The Production Process
The main ingredient of the Casamigos Reposado is agave. The agave used is 100%, Blue Weber. The Blue Weber agave takes around 7 to 9 years to mature enough to be harvested and hails from the rich soils of Jalisco, Mexico.
The second main ingredient used is purified water. The water is obtained from the Casamigos own wells.
Once obtained, the agave pinas are slowly roasted over 72 hours. The cooking takes place in a traditional brick oven. This process enhances the taste of the agave,
The agave is then fermented slowly. The fermentation process itself takes over 80 hours.
A unique yeast blend is added. This produces a consistent, refined flavor and aids in creating that delicious, smooth finish.
The Reposado is then held in premium American white oak barrels where it is aged for at least 7 months.

The label on the bottle is quite rustic and suits the relaxed, carefree vibe that Casamigos has cultivated. It is also signed by the founders, George Clooney and Rande Gerber.
Nose
The initial aroma that we found was notes of caramel with hints of cocoa. Upon further inspection and with a gentle swirl the Reposado holds a slightly smoked char with hints of peanut-shell.
The Casamigos Reposado also holds notes of vanilla maple with the slightest whisper of a spiced barrel.
Overall, the aroma is quite bright and lively with an undertone of agave.
It is quite pleasant and has a calming, homey nose that every home tequila should have.
Palate
The Casamigos brand is known for being incredibly smooth on the palate and, we must say, it does not disappoint.
The initial taste test revealed a lovely depth to its spiciness with touches of tobacco and leather. It has a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel.

We prefer to have the Reposado clean or on the rocks; however, after a bit of experimentation, we found that it works quite well in cocktails.
The only downside to using it in cocktails is that the wonderful undertones of the Reposado can get overwhelmed with other flavors.

The premium Casamigos Reposado comes at a premium price. The price of the Reposado, valued at around $45, increased our expectations. After all, if you need to drop almost $50 on tequila, it better make good on all its promises.
